Enjoying Hammamet

Hammamet is a sea side resort located on the East coast of Tunisia, 60 km far from the capital Tunis. It is a medium-sized town with 83.000 inhabitants, rich with several thousand years of history, with the imprint of prestigious civilizations: Phoenicians, Carthaginians, Romans, Byzantines, Arabs and the Turks

Hammamet is also known for its Mediterranean microclimate, citrus and jasmine orchards, sandy sea coast and gulf. At the beginning of the XXth century, Hammamet became a resort that attracted many celebrities and artists like Paul Klee, Georges Bernanos, André Gide, Franck Wright, Jean Cocteau and many others.

Since the mid-1980s Hammamet has become the temple of Tunisian tourism.

Getting there

Tunis Carthage and Enfidha-Hammamet Airports can be used to reach hammamet. The nearest airport to the Congress Venue is Enfidha-Hammamet Airport, which mainly serves seasonal European flights. Most hotels offer transfer shuttles from Tunis Carthage International Airport, about 70km away.
